Preview from Pookey The Mousepig

Mia Bella loved to draw. She would draw pictures of anything she could imagine. Her imagination took her everywhere. She imagined riding on the back of a yellow crested dragon that soared above the roof tops and gigantic frogs that could jump from one country to another. However, Mia didn't always dream big.
One stormy afternoon, she was drawing with her crayons and decided to draw a little creature half pig and half mouse. Mia spent a whole afternoon perfecting the outline and colouring him in. He had a little piggy snout, mouse ears and beautiful black eyes almost like raisins. His little stubby arms poked through a pink and white stripy vest, and a curly tail stuck out at the back. She named him Pookey. Mia was unaware that as she was drawing the rain outside was becoming heavier and heavier. Mia wasn't very fond of the rain but especially didn't like it when it thundered.
All of a sudden a thunderous rumble shook through her bedroom. Mia jumped up leaving the drawing of her half pig half mouse picture behind and ran downstairs to her Daddy. As she cuddled up to her Daddy on the sofa, lightning was dancing in the sky. Bright blue flashes that looked like wintry tree branches lit up the blackened sky. Instantly loud rumbles of thunder echoed over her house. Mia was very frightened. Little did she know what was about to happen in her bedroom.
The little piece of paper she had been drawing on all afternoon was lying on her special drawing table next to her bed. The room was quiet and still, then suddenly a bolt of lighting reached through the window and zapped the little piece of paper. The paper shot up in the air and began twirling and spinning around Mia's bedroom. It looked as though the little piece of paper was caught in a tornado. Then gradually it started floating down back towards the table, swinging from side to side like a pirate ship ride at a theme park. The paper landed back on her table as though nothing had happened, except this time the piece of paper was glowing just as bright as the moon in the night sky. Meanwhile, Mia was still downstairs with her Daddy cuddling up to him for reassurance. Her Mommy was making them all a nice warm hot chocolate. As Mia sipped from her gingerbread man mug all of her panic and fear slowly sank away from her. To add to her delight, the storm had passed and bright blue skies had returned. Only a few fluffy clouds were there now, which she didn't mind because they looked like little lambs bouncing around a field.....
